We have carefully worked on improving the functionality of the LS Intranet Internal Corporate Portal on SharePoint Modern Experience and are excited to share the news with you! LS intranet 3.0 can now be used not only as a standalone app but also as a set of widgets for SharePoint Online communication sites. This means that our Clients can develop their existing SharePoint resources without having to redesign the portal from scratch!

SharePoint Online offers many web parts (widgets) for creating meaningful pages. However, widgets that would provide extended information about the organizational structure of the Company and Employees, in our view, are lacking. The built-in Organizational Chart and People web parts provide only basic information about selected Employees in the form of a simple chart and cards. Instead, the set of widgets implemented by us allows you to receive more detailed information on the pages of the SharePoint portal. They are about the data of the Company's Employees, information about new Employees, birthdays, and even promotions. Let's go through each of the new widgets of the LS Intranet 3.0 Internal Corporate Portal on SharePoint Modern Experience:

1. Organizational Structure is a full-page web part that displays the organizational structure of the Company in the form of an Organizations and Departments tree, showing all Employees of the selected Department and the necessary data about them. The widget takes into account even complex options for building the Company's structure if there are separate Organizations within it, and if Employees hold several positions in different Departments. Of course, the widget has a search through The Organizational Structure.
    
2. OrgDirectory – a full-page widget that provides quick access to information about each Employee. In fact, it is an alphabetical index of all Employees with filtering by the selected letter and searching by data. Of course, we also implemented the tool to switch the alphabet according to the Client's language.
    
3. Birthdays – a widget that displays the Employees' birthdays according to the filter selected. The filter allows you to choose the period (number of days) you want to see data about birthday people. You can also select only your Department or Organization so that you see relevant data only about your Colleagues. In addition, you can customize the theme and choose from four types of layout (arrangement of functional elements on the page): slider, tile, vertical list, or multi-slider.
    
4. Newcomers – this widget displays new Employees. The functionality of settings and filters is similar to the Birthdays widget: there is a filter by days and Departments, a custom theme, and different types of layouts. Such functionality helps to quickly navigate among new Employees. This is especially appreciated by HR depts and Team Leads.
    
5. Promotion - a widget about transferring Employees to new positions. It can be configured to display relevant data for the entire Company or a separate Department/Organization. In our opinion, the Promotion widget not only informs about the career growth of Colleagues in the Company but also helps to maintain transparency and motivation among Employees.
    
6. Organizational chart – a widget that displays the direct Managers and Subordinates of the User in the form of a diagram. We also implemented a position toggle if the User holds several positions within the Company.

The Organizational Structure and OrgDirectory widgets are full-page. That is, they occupy most of the page and can contain a lot of information. Instead, the rest of the widgets can be integrated into various SharePoint Modern Experience page layouts. In particular, in three, two, or one column. Of course, the widget names (headings) can be changed to the Customer's request.

Widgets are supplied as separate apps and can be added as usual through AppCatalog. Then they can be configured and added from the list of available web parts.

In short, Lizard Soft's new set of widgets for the LS Intranet 3.0 Internal Corporate Portal significantly expands the functionality of SharePoint Online.
