LS Intranet: Merge with Microsoft 365 Ecosystem

When your internal corporate portal exists separately from daily work tools, its usage potential inevitably becomes limited. Your Users have to switch between different work apps, Administrators must maintain fragmented access points, while your Business loses the opportunity to embed information and processes directly into workstreams. This gap between the portal as a knowledge base and the platforms where knowledge is applied has been a significant challenge for LS Intranet Internal Corporate Portal. Overcoming this challenge was the next step in LS Intranet's evolution.

We are dramatically expanding the reach of the LS Intranet Teams App. Now, the App integrates not only with Microsoft Teams but also with Outlook, the main Microsoft 365 (M365) App, and, in preview mode, directly into the interfaces of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This means that the functionality of the corporate portal—news, directories, knowledge bases, processes, requests—is accessible precisely where Users are working at the moment. They don't need any more to open a new tab or switch between Apps. All these various access points are built on a single codebase, forming the foundation for development and maintenance efficiency.

Here’s how it works: The technological foundation of this expansion is the Microsoft 365 platform, which allows the development of unified apps that adapt their logic and interface to specific environments (i.e., Teams, Outlook, Word, etc.). The LS Intranet Development Team completely revised the architecture of our Teams App, transforming it into a universal M365 App.

Developers now implement the business logic only once, and the system automatically adapts this business logic’s display and interaction based on where the App is launched: in the Teams chat window, in the Outlook news feed, on the toolbar of Word/Excel/PowerPoint, or in the main M365 App. For End Users, it looks like a native part of the work environment. For Administrators, it’s a single entity managed in the M365 Admin Center: one App, one security policy, one update cycle for all platforms.

In short, expanding the functionality of LS Intranet Teams App across the entire Microsoft 365 ecosystem (including preview in Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is about seamless integration of your primary work environment with your favorite work software. This isn’t just one more access point—it’s a fundamental reduction of the barrier between the knowledge base and its usage. Users get information and tools directly in the context of their current task, Administrators benefit from drastically simplified management and deployment, and Businesses achieve increased efficiency through the natural integration of the portal into daily workflows. And the number of Employees—whether dozens or tens of thousands—no longer adds complexity. So that LS Intranet Corporate Portal is no more «a place to visit» but an essential part of «the place where it’s convenient to work.»
