April 25, 2012 in Kiev took place one of the most important events of the year: SharePoin  ̶  first Ukrainian Conference SPCUA 2012.

SharePoint Conference Ukraine in 2012, was opened by the head of Microsoft Ukraine, Dmitry Shimko, who represented his introductory speech. He talked about the fact that SharePoint is an important part of todays business and can not exist only within IT sphere. This speech was continued by CEO of Lizard Soft, Vasily Grigoriev, who told that he was glad to welcome so many parties interested in technologyof SharePoint, and announced the official opening of the conference.

SPCUA2012 was attended by over 200 people, among whom there were the representatives of companies deploying or planning to deploy SharePoint, as well as solution providers.

The conference was divided into two main streams: for business and for IT professionals. The business stream speakers from the leading Ukrainian companies described successful experiences in implementing portals based on the platform Microsoft SharePoint. According to Sergei Sadovsky,the head of Project Management department in OTP Bank, the Microsoft SharePoint Portal allowed to develop intra- portal  OTP Plane. Anastasia Goncharova from DTEK showed the ways how SharePoint platform supported the interaction between numerous branches of a huge company.

The IT stream gave a warm welcome to live stars from the world of SharePoint - Michael Noel and Paul Svaydera from the U.S. They shared their experiences, advice and useful information, contained in their cognitive reports.

After each presentation, the audience had a chance to ask questions and get satisfactory answers from the experts. Also during the conference coffee breaks people could communicate with the speakers and each other in an informal and friendly atmosphere. Plenary discussions completed the first  positive day of the conference SPCUA 2012.
